For the Good of the Economy

The biggest obstacle facing humans in 2021 is borders. Yes, climate change is destroying our planet. Yes, unfettered capitalism is destroying our bodies. Yes, self absorbed individualism is destroying our souls. Every single one of these would be improved if every single border was removed and citizenship was completely abolished. No what-about, no excuses, there are no longer nations. Federal governments can exist to oversee masses of land as long as they do so in coordination with other federal governments and they are beholden to every single person in their designated area regardless of origins. This is a radical idea, but it wouldn’t be very hard to implement. Every single person registers with their local government, the government is not allowed to turn you away, or deny you. You exist, therefore they must acknowledge you. Each person can be registered with one government at a time as your primary residence. For the purposes of tax, voting, etc. that is where you exist.

From there you effectively expand the EU model of governing your governments. Every local government feeds into the government of governments because it makes sense. Your town works with the town next to yours to maintain or build up the land between. The neighboring large city gathers your town and the others ringing it for a project on improving public transit. That gets scaled up into several large cities building interconnecting transit. It’s organized chaos. We finally have the technology to do it, so what’s stopping us? Preconceived notions of birthright and delusions of grandeur…
