There is No Domestic Terrorism
At least, that’s what my Canadian Poli Sci professor told me last month. He showed us a chart to explain why Americans priorities were illogical. This chart, like most charts in the US, compared gun homicides to acts of terrorism. The chart indicated year over year less than 20 terrorist deaths and over 11,000 gun homicides. I’m not sharing this chart because it is manipulated statistics.
The US makes no distinction in gun homicides because they want you to think terrorism is a race problem. Hundreds, if not, thousands of those 11,000 gun homicides committed every year are acts of terrorism, committed predominantly by white people. But heaven forbid we look at it that way. Heaven forbid we atone for the terrorism we’ve created and pushed out into the world.
Terrorism should be a priority for Americans because it is happening nearly daily on their soil. The problem with America’s focus on terrorism is that we only see it when it’s wrapped in brown skin. Thousands of white men scale the wall of the US capitol and destroy federal property, 13 arrests were made. Every single one of those traitors should have been shot dead. Instead, they were practically welcomed in to loot and pillage.
America deserves to be taken to task by the international community, but the white international community seems incapable of seeing the forest for the trees. We call it Domestic Terrorism for a reason. The white ruling class has enacted policies that allow them to commit acts of terrorism without facing the full repercussion of what it means to commit indiscriminate acts of violence with a political agenda. Playing fair with America on the global stage and furthering the idea that there is no domestic terrorism is an act of complicit white supremacy.
